Holistic Pain Relief

We not only treat you; we EmPower you

Pain is complex. It can stem not only from the original cause but also from the unconscious ways we adjust to tolerate it – otherwise known as compensation patterns. We help you recalibrate your patterns using corrective and functional techniques.

Integrative Physical Therapy

A while back I was experiencing progressively worsening low back pain. Not having had an injury and being a firm believer in critical thinking, I knew the pain must be due to a compensation somewhere else in my body.

Applying my tried and true  assessment approach, I determined that the real issue was a limitation in my mid-back causing strain on the low back. After 2 to 3 weeks of doing functional corrective exercise I could cycle, garden and work 100% pain-free. And my story is not unique…

Joint & Spine

Most of us fall on a continuum between weekend warrior and professional athlete making us no strangers to pain. Whether you need rehab for a total joint replacement, injuries from a recent crash or due to an overuse injury, I can help.

Recently I helped Josie whose knee pain had crept into her hip and finally into her back. Playing detective I was able to trace a significant part of her problem to an old severely sprained untreated ankle injury 20 years previously. Her significantly limited ankle mobility meant that she could not hike, squat to  garden or lift weights using good form. Eventually other joints and tissues were complaining loudly about being overloaded.  I love getting to the root of a client’s pain!
