Not ECCENTRIC= Not FLEXIBLE

Have you heard of ECCENTRIC Exercise? They are slow exercises that focus on lengthening specific muscle contractions ( Imagine doing a bicep curl with a dumbbell and slowly lowering the dumbbell back towards your thigh. The slow lowering is the eccentric contraction of the muscle)
More and more studies continue to show the benefits of ECCENTRIC exercise to improve muscle flexibility.
That’s right, lifting weights can provide lasting gains in flexibility! Historically though, PTs, and other wellness professionals have preached that stretching is the only way to improve flexibility, the research is showing us that the “old way” may not be as effective as we thought!
